beatbo review

There aren’t many robots out there that are designed for babies. There are even fewer that help with a baby’s development half as much as Beatbo, the new dancing, singing robot from Fisher-Price.

Fisher-Price is now a subsidiary of Mattel, who have lately been entering the robotics industry. However, Fisher-Price has existed as a company for nearly eighty-six years, and their quality in children’s toys is second to none, and Beatbo seems unlikely to disappoint in that area. This little guy packs tons of bright color and personality into a fun package.

He can dance, teach letters and numbers, and help your child improve both their fine and gross motor development and they will simply think they’re playing with their new robot. First Thoughts

Beatbo’s packaging is amazing. The robot comes in an easy-to-open box that prominently displays all the exciting things he can do. You will need a pair of scissors to cut a small piece of tape, but after that, simply twist the easy tabs under his feet and Beatbo slides right out. The unboxing literally took two seconds.

Design

Beatbo is a multi-colored humanoid robot whose spherical head is topped by bright, rainbow-colored antennas. He stands about 11.02 inches tall and 5.12 inches wide. His stomach is a grid of LED lights that change color as he dances. He also has a button on each shoe. These buttons are alternate ways to control Beatbo if you or your baby don’t want to press his tummy grid.

Beatbo is made of durable plastic, and there are no small parts to break off. This makes him ideal for a baby aged nine months and up.

His hands also feature numbers and letters. This facilitates some of the games for older children who might be playing with him.

How Does Beatbo Work?

Beatbo is a fun companion for your baby. He features three modes of interaction for hours of playtime fun. In Dance and Move mode, this clever little robot plays energetic music to get your baby up and moving to the beat. He even encourages them as they dance, telling them they are doing a good job. This sort of encouragement makes a baby more likely to keep on dancing.

Beatbo requires 4 AA batteries. Unlike most toys you buy, these are actually included so you can start playing with him right out of the box. You will also find that the batteries last a long time.

Features

Beatbo features a large tummy which is a grid of LED lights. These LEDS change colors and flash as he dances, visually stimulating your baby. He is like a small disco ball and would be great fun to play with at night when the LEDS will really shine. The LED colors also serve another purpose however. They are a great way for your baby to start to learn their colors.

When Beatbo dances, his hips shake and his head nods. Children will have a blast dancing along with him and mimicking his hilarious moves. He also encourages your child to get up and dance, praising them all the while. Young children are very keen on praise as a reward, and Beatbo rewards them for dancing and moving with him.

Games Mode

In Games mode, Beatbo has several interactive games to teach your little one their numbers, letters and colors. This mode is perfect for toddlers, as it provides important early education in skills they are going to need for life.

Freeze Mode

In the included freeze mode, Beatbo teaches your baby cause and effect. The other exciting thing about Beatbo is that he features a custom sing along mode where either you or your baby can record a phrase. Then Beatbo will remix it into his favorite song.

Fun and Games Mode

In fun and games mode, Beatbo teaches your child about the ABC’s, numbers and more in song and dance. He ill, for example, count, and tell your child to do an action such as hopping or dancing or jumping, and by so doing, the child not only moves around but also learns their letters and numbers. There is even a freeze-dance mode for added fun.

Customized Singalong Mode

In customized singalong mode, you or your child can program a phrase for Beatbo to remix into his favorite song. The recording process is very easy. Simply press a button and wait for his tummy grid to turn red. Further, if you are a parent with a visual impairment, there is a small sound when the Beatbo is ready to record. That means you don’t have to look at the LED.

Beatbo teaches your child cause and effect. When they press his brightly colored buttons, exciting things happen. Beatbo responds to these button presses with songs, actions and learning content that will excite and entertain your child.

This amazing robot also strengthens your baby’s fine and gross motor skills. The bright colors, lights, phrases and dancing also give your child’s senses a boost which aids in their development.

Conclusion

That’s the end of our Beatbo review! Beatbo is absolutely awesome, full of the quality you would expect from a Fisher-Price toy. He gets a lot of play value out of his batteries, and he keeps your child stimulated and happy. Beatbo gets them up and dancing, shaking their hips and nodding their heads in time to the bouncy music.

As your child gets older, Beatbo grows with them, so he is a bit like having three toy robots in one. For his price, that is an amazing value. Beatbo is apt to become your child’s favorite toy. They will never realize that they are also learning and developing needed life skills as they play. All they’ll care is that Beatbo is so much fun. Even we at TheEliteDrone liked this little robot and consider him an amazing toy to buy your children.
