Best Cheap RC Cars

We all know hobbies can be very expensive, and that includes remote-controlled cars. That is why I have made a list of cheap RC cars so that you don’t have to spend a lot, while still enjoying your car without having to worry about the quality.

I considered cheap RC cars to be under $100, so that should give you an idea of the maximum you would be spending on any of these cars, although they are all far less than that. The list is not in any specific order and I focused more on aesthetically pleasing cars. Let’s get started!

Rastar LaFerrari

LaFerrari

Length: 17 inches
Price: See here
Recommended Age: 8+
Items included: Car, Transmitter

Pros:
1. Fully functioning LED lights for the head lights and the back lights.
2. Interior detail is very realistic.
3. Comes in yellow or red colors.
4. Great price for what you get.
5. Relatively durable even though it is made with plastic.

Cons:
1. Average remote controls and range.
2. You have to contact the sellers if you want a specific color (you are limited to red and yellow for choices).
3. Mirrors come off.

Speed

There is nothing to special about the speed of the RC car. I would say it is about as fast other RC cars. When you think about the fact that the car is holding 5 AA batteries as well as it being relatively heavy, it is actually quite impressive that it can match the speed of other RC cars.

Batteries

In order for the car to operate, it needs 5 AA batteries. The length of the battery life is determined by which batteries you use. I would suggest getting the rechargeable AA batteries so that you are not constantly purchasing new batteries. The controller requires a 9V battery, which is also not included.

Transmitter

The transmitter seems very simplified. You are only limited to forward, backwards, left, and right. Although this is great for younger drivers, some people may be left disappointed with the limited amount of controls.

The range of the transmitter is about 30-50 feet, so if you want to drive longer distances, you are going to have to move with the car.

Appearance

I cannot stress how well the detail is on this car. You could honestly not even drive the car and just display it.

The doors of the car open and close, making it much more realistic and entertaining. The lights of the cars light up as well, which is pretty cool!

Holy Stone 2962A Lamborghini Veneno

LamborghiniVeneno

Length: 14 inches
Price: See here
Recommended Age: 14+
Items included: Car, Transmitter, 2 NiCad battery packs

Pros:
1. Fully functioning LED lights for the head lights and the back lights.
2. Great battery life.
3. Amazing customer service.
Cons:
1. Not the greatest on carpets.
2. Not very fast.

Speed

The speed on the Veneno is not that fast, and it seems the manufacturers wanted this car to me more of a display car as opposed to a RC car. It drives well on flat surfaces, but once you hit carpet, this car seems to struggle a bit.

Batteries

The nice thing about the RC Veneno is that it does come with 2 battery packs for the car. Not only that, but the transmitter only takes 3 AA batteries. This means more time being able to drive and less time worrying about whether or not you have more batteries.

Transmitter

The transmitter is interesting as it is not your standard one. It’s a joystick rather than a bunch of knobs. I do feel that it will take some time getting used to the joystick because it is a little more difficult to control.

Although the transmitter is unique, it still has the same basic controls of forward, backwards, left, and right.

Appearance

This car was created with the purpose of being as realistic as possible.I do believe the intention of HolyStone was to focus more on the aesthetics and not as much on the driving capabilities.

It has working headlights and back lights that allow you to simulate actual driving. It also has automatic doors that open like an actual Lamborghini!

Lamborghini Reventon

reventon

Length: 8 inches
Price: See here
Recommended Age: 10+
Items included: Car, Transmitter

Pros:
1. Model looks very similar to the real thing.
2. Easy to maneuver.
Cons:
1. Transmitters interfere if you buy more than one.
2. Transmitter range is not that great.

Speed

The RC Reventon has an average speed, but I can assure you that you will not be very impressed. That being said, you get what you pay for, and for the price, this car gets the job done. Sometimes the car might struggle on very smooth surfaces such as marble, as I would be aware of that as well.

Batteries

The RC car requires 4 AA batteries, which are not included with the package. The transmitter uses a 9V battery, which is also not included. The battery life will vary by depending on what kind of batteries you get.

Transmitter

The transmitter is a basic one, with the controls being left, right, forward, and back. Unfortunately, the transmitter is sub-par in terms of its range. The range is about 10-20 ft, which should not be too much of a problem for kids.

Appearance

Similar to the other RC cars listed, the Reventon is more about the design than the power, which is not a bad thing. It looks just like the real thing!

Conclusion

So that concludes the list of cheap RC cars that are worth getting. These cars look good, and are great as gifts for practically anyone!
