Holy Stone X400C Review
Holy Stone is back at it again, and this time it’s the Holy Stone X400C. This quadcopter is supposed to be the new and improved version of the X300C, which came out a while ago. We were excited to try this bad boy out and see if it was worth the price Holy Stone was charging. We also created this Holy Stone X400C review to answer any questions you might have. So without further ado, let’s get started!

Below is a Holy Stone X400C Review video that shows the quadcopter actually flying. (I unfortunately could not find a video with the video quality of the quadcopter)
1. Has great maneuverability and good speed
2. 4 control modes
3. Has headless mode, which is great for beginners
4. Has a first person point of view mode
5. Has a return to home feature
1. Pretty light, so the quadcopter may be affected by winds greater than 5 mph
2. Blade guards are rather frail
The Holy Stone X400C requires very little assembly out of the box. All you need to do is install the landing gear and the blade guards.
The quadcopter, after a full charge, can fly anywhere from 7-15 minutes. If you use the camera, it will probably last closer to 7 minutes. The range on the transmitter to the quadcopter is around 300 feet.
The X400C also has different speed settings, which allow beginners to fly at slower speeds and intermediate and advanced pilots to fly at faster speeds.
The first thing to catch my eye about this quadcopter is the design. It is very sleek and looks really cool! The quadcopter is black, which may seem pretty inconvenient if you wanted to fly at night. However, the good thing is that it can still be flown at night because the quadcopter has blue and orange LED lights.
The blue lights are located in the front of the quadcopter and the orange lights are in the back of the quadcopter. To turn the lights on, there is an on/off switch located at the top of the quadcopter.
The camera is very interesting. The resolution is 720. You can use the first person point of view and see live footage on your phone. Because the camera uses wifi, the stream can be laggy or even cut out at times. In order to begin using the camera, you need download the app from their website (www.mjxtoys.com), and pick either Apple or Android for your phone model.
After you figure that out, check what model camera you have with the quad (MJX C4005 FPV or MJX C4006 FPV) and download the software to your phone. This is mentioned in the manual and online as well. The transmitter has a phone holder so that you can use the transmitter while watching the live video.
The camera’s angle can also be adjusted, but has less than 90 degree variability.
Maintenance Advice provided by Holy Stone:
1.The motors and circuit board will heat up with misuse. Take a 10 minute cool down break between flights to ensure your parts last as long as possible.
2.To avoid burning up the USB Charger,it should be used under 0.5A currents.
I would definitely recommend this quadcopter to anyone. It has a great design, has a decent battery life, and is beginner friendly. The blade protectors are a bit flimsy, but I do believe that is a minor issue. I cannot stress enough that Holy Stone has great customer service, which should be a priority for all companies. For its price, this is one of best quadcopters in the market!
