Syma X5C-1 Review
The Syma X5C-1 is an affordable quadcopter by the company Holy Stone. This is an updated version of the Syma X5C. It has improved stability, improved control, and a very good price. So without further ado, let’s begin the Syma X5C-1 review!

Great for: Beginner-Amateur RC quadcopter pilots

1. Very affordable. The price is around $45.
2. Has a 2 megapixel camera that shoots in 1280 X 720 for pictures and 30 frames per second with videos.
3. Flies extremely well and does not wobble.
4. Can be flown indoors and outdoors.
1. Unlike other quadcopter models, this one does not have a return home feature.
2. Easily affected by the wind. Anything greater than 5 mph will make it much more difficult to pilot.
3. Does not have headless mode.
Here is a great video showing how well the SYMA X5C-1 can fly! It also shows the quality of the camera, so you know what to expect before buying it.
When you open the package for the first time, most of the drone is already assembled. However, you may need to attach the prop guards.
After fully charging your battery, your SYMA X5C-1 should be ready to fly! Make sure not to overcharge the battery as that may reduce the lifespan of the battery.
The average flying time of the RC quadcopter is about 7 minutes. If you are not using the camera and there is little to no wind, it can last around 10-15 minutes. Charging time can vary. It takes roughly an hour to fully charge a battery, so keep that in mind. As always, I would suggest buying more than one battery so that you can fly for longer periods of time.
The transmitter is 2.4GHz, so if you had more than one quadcopter, they will not interfere with each other. The transmitter needs 4 AA batteries, which unfortunately do not come with the package. The range of the transmitter is about 300 feet, which is pretty standard for a quadcopter of this value.
The quadcopter comes with 2 modes, beginner and advanced mode. The beginner mode makes the quadcopter much easier to control by making the quadcopter slightly less responsive to the controller. The advanced mode is much more reactive to the transmitter.
The camera is of a decent quality, but I would suggest staying away from pictures as more often than not they come out blurry. The best time to film is when it is bright out. This is to be expected as you get what you pay for.
Another useful thing about the Syma X5C-1 is that it has LED lights. This is great because if you wanted to fly it night, you will be able to see the quadcopter in the air. The camera does not have night vision, so it would be difficult to get quality pictures and videos.
The Syma X5C-1 is a nice update from the original X5C. The stability is great, the price is very affordable, and it has a decent camera. This is a great quadcopter, especially for its price.
